Big Rigs (2-hour course)
It could be said that the trucking
industry is the backbone of this country. Every day,
thousands of trucks travel thousands of miles to transport
the goods necessary to sustain our standard of living.
Unfortunately, the demand for material goods can lead
unscrupulous companies to cut corners in chase of
a higher profit. And then there are the companies
that take a larger role in criminal activities, such
as the transportation of illegal aliens, large quantities
of drugs, and stolen vehicles. In this course, you
will learn about the costs associated with commercial
trucking as well as how to recognize equipment and
overweight violations, what to do |
 |
when you decide
to stop a truck, and what the law entitles you to
search after the stop has been made. Do not be intimidated;
the premise of commercial vehicle interdiction is
the same as that of passenger car interdiction. Use
the tools from this course to make the nation's roadways
safer for all vehicles.
