Vice for Patrol (2-hour Course)

If you have been a police officer
for any length of time, you have probably seen your
fair share of various crimes. One category of crimes,
in particular, seems to awaken the most emotions
over whether or not it is a crime. We are talking
about vice-related crimes. Should prostitution be
a crime? How about pornography? Is porn a crime,
or is it simply First Amendment expression? The
same can be asked of massage parlors, liquor laws,
or ticket scalping. Who is really the victim? In
our vice course, we cover prostitution - both street
and Internet - massage parlors, scalping tickets,
pornography sales, and liquor law violations from
the standpoint of an officer on patrol in his community.
This class teaches you what to look for and the
elements of each crime. Learn how various agencies
eliminated these crimes in their jurisdiction, or
greatly reduced their corrosive effect. This is
a great course on a topic that is generally handled
only by a specific unit within an agency.
