OSHA Mandate:

This process was designed to satisfy OSHA requirements for 29CFR1910.134, Appendix C, OSHA Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire. OSHA requires all employers, whose employees wear a respirator, to provide a medical evaluation to determine an employee’s ability to use a respirator before fit testing or respirator use occurs. Along with this requirement, an employer is also obligated to pay for the medical evaluation and any related expenses incurred during the evaluation, including travel costs.

How our product fulfills the OSHA requirement:

The medical certification covers disposable respirators (N, R or P filter masks), half masks with canisters and full-face piece respirators.

Board-certified physicians and certified safety professionals developed, and provide overview, for the site.

Through the use of this online evaluation, thousands of individuals have been successfully certified.

Ease of use:

Fast:  Employees are able to complete their online medical evaluation in 10 minutes.

Convenient:  The online respirator medical evaluation allows for certification at any hour of the day or night.  Employees can complete the questionnaire on any shift, without needing to leave the work site to visit a doctor’s office.

Functions of the site:

Employees use a customized company access code to login into the site.

After log on, general information is collected on the employee.

The employee than is able to read information on the site, including the purpose of the evaluation, prior to beginning the questionnaire.

Questions, in compliance with the OSHA mandate, are then asked of the employee.

After each page of questions, the employee has the opportunity to verify their answers.

Upon successful completion of the questionnaire, the employee is able to automatically print his/her certificate.

Other Important Information:

If the employee is not able to be certified using the online method, it does not mean they cannot be certified; however, they will need to be seen in person by a physician for further evaluation.

The current pass rate for first responders is 80%.

Cost Savings:

By using the site, a cost savings of $100-$350 per employee is realized.  The savings include travel, doctor fee, and time the employee is away from their assigned job duties.
