Trinka Porrata currently works nationwide as a private consultant, providing instruction, legislative support and expert testimony regarding various drug issues, especially GHB, ketamine, flunitrazepam, LSD and MDMA.

Ms. Porrata retired in February 1999 as a Detective II from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). She has successfully initiated legislation in California to control flunitrazepam (Rohypnol, aka roofies) and gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) and has assisted several other states in doing the same. She has testified as an expert in court on both GHB and Rohypnol (as well as other drugs) and has provided consultation on numerous other drug and drug-facilitated rape cases.

Ms. Porrata has worked with law enforcement on-site at rave parties on recognition of drugs and enforcement issues. She appeared in a recently released documentary entitled “Better Living Through Circuitry” about raves and on Good Morning America in September 1999.
